October 11th

Unfortunately, I woke up this morning feeling terrible. A severe head cold and lack of energy has kept me in bed all day. I haven't eaten a single bite of food, and have only drank water.

That will change tomorrow as I have to go into work. So lets just delay the start one day, and kick it off tomorrow.

Starting Up!

I'm calling this personal challenge "Operation 225".

First, a little background....

I'm 27 years old, and 6'4. I play hockey once a week, and work a job that has me constantly on my feet, but not necessarily doing labor. I am going to attempt this challenge without the use of a gym. I work 12 hour days, and my schedule changes every week from nights to days, so a routine at a gym is not feasible at this time.

I plan on a cardio heavy routine.

The goal im setting for myself is to get down to 225 pounds. At the time of this writing I am tipping the scales at 249 pounds.

Being that this is holiday season, it may not be the best time to start, but I'd rather not put it off anymore.

Each day I will list my menu for the day (normally at the end of the day/night), and each days menu will have a calorie count, as i'd like to get that number down as well.

I will also list any and all exercise i do daily. I'll be the first to admit I'm generally a lazy person, and with my work schedule, some days may have no exercise whatsoever. But I plan on making up for it.

I'll also be the first to say that I enjoy some unhealthy foods. Pizza, mac n cheese, etc. I will try to keep them non-existent but some may slip in.

Essentially I guess I wanted to start this blog as a way of keeping myself honest. If I have everything written and documented, I'll be more likely to reach my goal!
